Aims and Scope

Problems of Tribology is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal focused on publishing the results of fundamental and applied research in tribology and related scientific and engineering fields.

The aim of the journal is to disseminate new scientific knowledge, promote the development of tribology as an interdisciplinary field, and facilitate effective international scientific communication.

The main objectives of the journal are:
– to publish original research articles and review papers in the field of tribology;
– to promote the implementation of research results in mechanical engineering, transport, and materials science;
– to support the development of modern methods for studying, modeling, and diagnosing friction and wear processes;
– to foster international scientific cooperation and exchange of knowledge.

The scope of the journal includes:
– theoretical foundations of tribology (contact mechanics, surface physics and chemistry, mathematical modeling);
– friction, wear, and lubrication processes and their mechanisms;
– durability, reliability, and diagnostics of tribological systems;
– tribomaterials, coatings, and surface engineering;
– manufacturing, restoration, and strengthening technologies for machine components;
– experimental methods in tribological research;
– applied aspects of tribology in mechanical engineering, transport, and related industries.

The journal considers only original, previously unpublished manuscripts that comply with the principles of academic integrity and ethical standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics. The primary criteria for selection are scientific novelty, validity of results, and their scientific and practical significance. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.

The journal accepts and publishes manuscripts exclusively in English as the language of international scientific communication. Detailed submission and formatting requirements are provided in the “Instructions for Authors” section.
