Retraction and Correction of Published Articles
All articles published in Problems of Tribology undergo peer review; however, the assessment of their reliability may continue after publication. The journal’s correction and retraction policy is based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aims to ensure the integrity of the scientific record.
Initiation and Investigation
Authors or readers may notify the editorial office of errors or concerns. All reports are assessed for validity. The editorial office may also initiate an investigation independently. Investigations may involve reviewers and, where appropriate, authors’ institutions. Authors are given the opportunity to respond. The editorial office ensures confidentiality and makes the final decision.
Corrections
If minor errors that do not affect the results or conclusions are identified, a correction (erratum or corrigendum) will be published with a link to the original article.
Grounds for Retraction
An article may be retracted in cases of confirmed serious violations, including:
– plagiarism or duplicate publication;
– data fabrication or unreliability of results;
– significant errors affecting conclusions;
– authorship or publication ethics violations;
– compromised peer review process;
– undisclosed conflicts of interest;
– improper use of artificial intelligence tools.
Retraction Notice
Retracted articles remain available in the journal archive with a clear retraction notice. Information about retractions or corrections is communicated to indexing services.
